Certain strenuous occupational and physical activities can cause premature osteoarthritis. This is the case, for example, for movers and tile setters, whose daily work is hard on the joints. Certain sports practiced at a high level and regularly, such as rugby, football, dance, or baseball, can lead to forms of osteoarthritis in the knees, hips, and shoulders.
Finally, certain morphological abnormalities such as dysplasias or subluxations can cause osteoarthritis of the hip or knee.
